Photonis Vyper Night Vision Monocular
Please call to discuss availability, phosphor and color options.
Defend the homeland with the Vyper™ line of long-lasting night vision devices that are ideally suited for head-worn or paired with another monocular for binocular applications. The Vyper™ systems are engineered to stand-up to the physical stresses of the battlefield and other dynamic use environments to ensure you will be able to see the details in any low light environment.
The Vyper™ line of modular, ruggedized systems features both PVS-14 (Vyper 14™) and a PVS-14C (Vyper 14C™) variants formed of high strength resin. Tested to comply with MIL-PRF-48324(CR), MIL-PRF-49427(CR) and MIL-STD-810G for shock, drop, vibration, and submersion the Vyper™ systems were designed to eliminate the most common causes of field-related failures.
Compatible with many of Photonis’ state-of-the-art image intensifier tubes, including our 4G and ECHO tubes, the Vyper™ systems are ready to address the stringent requirements of the modern night vision users.
Basic Kit Includes: Vyper monocular, manual, soft carrying bag w/ shoulder strap, battery, demist shield, lens cleaning device, sacrificial filter, eye cup, tether cord, J-Arm assembly (helmet mount adapter).
The Vyper monocular system is a heavily ruggedized system used by the soldier, law enforcement officer, hunter or rancher when operating in harsh, heavy usage environments.
The Vyper monocular system, when paired with the Photonis Defense 4G image tube achieves MILSPEC performance. When the Vyper is integrated with the Photonis Defense ECHO image tube, the system provides near MILSPEC performance at a commercial price point.
*MILSPEC = An objective standard used by the US military to measure system and tube performance.

Phosphor Options:
White Phosphor:
The latest technological achievement providing the greatest clarity of image when operating in urban, desert or forested environments. For these applications, the night vision user should turn to a white phosphor tube. Studies have shown that night-time scenes appear remarkably more natural in black and white versus the usual green. White phosphor also provides much clearer information about the contrast, shapes and shadows within an environment.
Benefits:
- Greater image clarity
- Scenes appear more natural
- Clearer information regarding contrast, shapes, shadows
- Perfect for urban, desert or forested environments
Green Phosphor:
The industry standard for more than 40 years, green phosphor is the perfect choice for operators that complete missions in the jungle or deep dark areas of the world. The enhanced contrast and depth required for operating in these densely packed environments are ideally suited to the green phosphor coating. The higher gains and stronger contrasts of the green phosphor enable the clarity of image required for those operating without the advantage of ambient light sources to enhance the image.
Benefits:
- Enhanced contrast and depth
- Higher gain and contrast provide better clarity
- Perfect for jungle or deep dark environments
